
Women's Tennis Defeats Iowa State, 6-1

AMES, Iowa ? The University of Colorado women's tennis won the doubles point, then won five out of six singles slots to take a 6-1 victory over Iowa State, Friday afternoon in a Big 12 Conference match.
With the win, the Buffaloes, ranked No. 43 nationally even their conference record at 2-2 and improve to 8-4 overall. The Cyclones fall to 0-4 in the conference and 2-5 overall.
It was the sixth-straight win for CU over Iowa State and their 23rd of the last 24 over the Cyclones.
With a 1-0 lead after taking two of three doubles points from Monica Milewski/Franziska Jendrian at No. 2 and Ewa Losinski/Jenny Hanson at No. 3, CU stormed ahead clinching the match with singles wins in straight sets from Jendrian (No. 5), Veera Nurmi (No. 4) and Milewski (No. 2).
Jendrian remained unbeaten in conference play with her fifth straight victory winning at No. 5, 6-3, 6-4. It was Jendrian's 14th win of the year and ninth out of 10 matches this dual season.
Nurmi, won her fifth match in a row match taking a 6-4, 6-4 decision at No. 4, winning her 18th match of the season and ninth of the spring. Milewski, ranked No. 55 nationally won her 15th of the season taking a tough 7-5, 7-5 winner.
The Buffaloes also received singles wins from Vanderdys, who won her 69th career singles match, in addition to Losinski at No. 3, as the Australian native won her ninth match in 13 outings.
In doubles the Milewski/Jendrian and Losinski/Hanson pairs teamed up for the first time this season and won.
Colorado returns to conference match play on Sunday taking on rival and No. 53 ranked Nebraska, Sunday at 9 a.m.
