
CU Women's Tennis Edged at Nebraska, 4-3

LINCOLN, Neb. ? Freshman Monica Milewski won her third out of her last five matches, but the University of Colorado women's tennis team dropped a tough conference loss Sunday afternoon as No. 53 Nebraska edged the No. 43 Buffaloes, 4-3 at the Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln.
Milewski, the No. 55 player in the country, defeated No. 95 Imke Reimers in straight sets, 6-3, 3-0. Reimers retired after the third game in the second set. Elsewhere in singles action, sophomore Veera Nurmi won her sixth straight match coming back from a set down to defeat Vanessa Heute 2-6, 7-5, 6-2.
In doubles action, CU took the No. 1 and No. 3 spots to claim the doubles point. The duo of Jenny Hanson and Ewa Losinski won their second match of the weekend by squeaking out an 8-6 victory over NU's Zugner and Skaza. At the No. 1 slot, Jessica Vanderdys and Gleisy Torres Torres easily won their match over the Huskers duo of Schlz-Gartner and Hartmann, 8-3.
The Buffs and Huskers have split their last six meetings with Colorado winning the last time at the Big 12 Tournament in 2005. The loss sends the Buffaloes to 8-4 overall and 2-3 in the Big 12.
CU continues play in the Big 12 when they host Missouri on Saturday, March 17 at the South Campus Tennis Courts. The match is set to begin at 11 a.m.
