Track Adds Five NLI Sprinters to 2008 Team

BOULDER - Colorado assistant track and field coach Brandon Couts has announced the addition of five National Letters of Intent to the sprints/hurdles roster for the 2008 season. These athletes have been enrolled at Colorado since classes started in August.
STEPHEN AGYEI - Sprints - Aurora, Colo. (Smoky Hill)
HIGH SCHOOL: Agyei earned three letters as a member of the track and field team at Smoky Hill. In 2005, he was an alternate for the 4x100 and 4x200 state champions. Agyei earned all region honors in the 300-meter hurdles his sophomore, junior and senior years. He was all-league, all-city and all-state his senior season. Agyei also earned one letter as a member of the 2007 Centennial League Champion basketball team.
ACADEMICS: Agyei is an open major at Colorado but is interested in physiology.
PERSONAL: Stephen Kwame Agyei was born on June 17, 1989 in Aurura, Colo. He is the son of Augustine and Susana Agyei. He has two brothers; Augustine Jr., (20) who was the 2005 state champion in the 300-meter hurdles and currently is a member of the football and track and field teams at Drake University and Michael, 10. Agyei lists his hobbies as comedy, music and rapping. He was a leader in the Brotherhood club and lists Kenyon Martin as a celebrity he has met.
MONICA GREEN - Sprints - Denver, Colo. (George Washington)
HIGH SCHOOL: Green was a member of the George Washington HS team which won the 2007 Colorado 5A State Track and Field Championship. Green ran the 200, 400 and 800-meter races in high school. She won the 2007 state championship in the 400. Green ran a personal record 56.3 in the 400 at the Great Southwest meet in June, 2007. Green was recruited by Bethune-Cookman, Colorado State, Northern Colorado and Arizona.
ACADEMICS: Green is a MCD Biology major at Colorado. She is also interested in psychology. Green would like to attend medical school to become a surgeon. She was a member of the honor roll in high school.
PERSONAL: Monica Ren? Green was born on April 6, 1989. She is the daughter of James and Carolyn Green of Denver. Her older brother Paul Wallace was a quarterback at the University of Wyoming. He twin sister, Monique, is also a member of the CU track and field team. Her cousin, Leonard Davis, currently plays in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys. She lists horseback riding and camping as her hobbies. She was the secretary of the African American Culture Club and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
MONIQUE GREEN - Sprints - Denver, Colo. (George Washington)
HIGH SCHOOL: Green was a member of the George Washington HS team which won the 2007 Colorado 5A State Track and Field Championship. Green ran the 200 and 400-meter races in high school. She set the school record of 58.1 in Littleton on April 20, 2007 and the record still stands. Green set her personal record in the 400 at regionals (57.3) in New Mexico. Green was also recruited by Wyoming, Drake, Fort Hays, Michigan State, Northern Colorado and Arizona.
ACADEMICS: Green is an Integrated Physiology major at Colorado and is interested in pursuing a career as a physician assistant. She was a member of the honor roll in high school.

TE'QIN (TOI) WINDHAM - Sprints/Hurdles - Little Elm, Texas. (Greenhill)
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-time letterwinner at GHS, Windham participated in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles and the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays. She owns the school record in the 100 hurdles (14.49), the 300 hurdles (43.85) which is also a conference record and conference, state and school records in the 4x100 (48.17) and 4x400 (3:57). Her track team won the 2006 and 2007 conference titles. In 2007, Windham scored 53 of the Hornet's 139 points by winning the 100 and 300-meter hurdles and the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays. She was the team captain in 2007 and the team's MVP from 2005-07. Windham also won the 300 hurdles her sophomore and junior years at the conference meet and was the runner-up in the 100 hurdles. Windham also earned three letters on the cross country team. She was named the MVP her junior season as was the captain as a senior. She placed third in the conference championship as a senior. Windham was also recruited by Northwestern State, Louisiana Tech, Illinois, Arizona State, Air Force and North Texas. She chose Colorado for the "whole package."
ACADEMICS: Windham intends to major in electrical engineering at Colorado and is also interested in physiology, photography and Chinese. Windham was a member of the Honor Roll, Mu Alpha Theta, Who's Who Among Students and a Presidential Classroom Award.
PERSONAL: Te'Qin Hing Windham was born on Nov. 16, 1988 in Hartford, Conn. She is the daughter of David and Theresa Windham. Her father, David, played in the NFL as a linebacker for the Patriots and the Redskins from 1984-1988. Windham is one of eight children. She has six sisters, Cresena, Taresa, Monica, Tasha, Dallas and TianEn and one brother, Leon. Her twin sister, TianEn, is a middle distance/hurdler at Colorado. Windham lists her hobbies as martial arts, piano, crochet, Chinese (language and culture), and hanging out with friends. She is a second-degree brown belt in American Tar Kwan Do. She has meet Bow Wow, Alicia Keys, B2K, Omarion, Sanya Richards and Keyshawn Johnson to name a few celebrities.
TIAN'EN (JOI) WINDHAM - Sprints/Hurdles - Little Elm, Texas. (Greenhill)
HIGH SCHOOL: Windham was a three year letterwinner as a Hornet. She is a member of the GHS and conference record team in the 4x400 (3:57). Her track team won the conference championship in 2007. She claimed top honors in the 800, 4x100 and 4x400 and finished second in the 300-meter hurdles behind her sister. Windham competed in the 2007 Nike Indoor Nationals and was 15th overall in the 800-meter run. She was also recruited by Louisiana Tech, Morgan State, Norfolk State, Georgia Tech and North Texas. Windham chose Colorado because it was a great place to maximize her potential in academics and athletics.
ACADEMICS: Windham intends to major in business management at Colorado and is also interested in international business. She would like to pursue a career as a sports agent or in sports management. Windham was a member of the Honor Roll and the Who's Who Among Students.
PERSONAL: TianEn Hing Windham was born on Nov. 16, 1988 in Hartford, Conn. She is the daughter of David and Theresa Windham. She has six sisters, Cresena, Taresa, Monica, Tasha, Dallas and Te'Qin and one brother, Leon. Her twin sister, Te'Qin, is a sprinter/hurdler at Colorado and is just two minutes older. She lists her hobbies as music, coaching club track, track meets and football games. In 2007 she worked for Gifted By Design, which is a local business. She lists Allen Rossum and Larry Brown as celebrities she has met.
