
No. 51 CU Tennis Falls to No. 48 Oregon, 5-2

CU (3-2), ranked No. 51 nationally, saw their first loss at home of the dual season, while the Ducks (6-2) gained two wins in the state this weekend, also defeating the No. 45 University of Denver Pioneers, 4-3 Friday night.
The Ducks, ranked No. 48, have won the last three matches against the Buffaloes, even though CU has won eight of 11 in the head-to-head series.
The Buffaloes started off the match strong, picking up all three doubles slots and giving visitors their first doubles point loss in the dual season.
CU tarnished the Ducks' 17-1 doubles record handing them three additional losses.
At No. 1 doubles, the CU duo of Camila Belassi and Gleisy Torres Torres upset No. 28 Ana Cecilia Olivos/Dominika Dieskova, 8-4. It was Olivos/Dieskova's first loss in seven matches this year.
The
Belassi/Torres Torres have won four of five matches.
Clinching the doubles point at the No. 2 position, Franziska Jendrian and Monica Milewski defeated Carmen Seremeta/Claudia Hirt, 8-2. Jendrian/Milewski improve to 6-2.
At No. 3,
Picking up the sole singles victory for CU was Belassi edging Ana Cecilia Olivos, 7-6, 6-4 at the No. 2 position. Belassi is 9-2 in her first collegiate season, including a 4-1 mark in the dual season.
CU will open Big 12 Conference play when they face the No. 53 Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday in
