Colorado-Kansas Notes

February 25, 2007 | Women's Basketball

Saturday was senior night as the Buffaloes said goodbye to three seniors, forward Courtney Wallace (Colorado Springs, Colo.), forward Anna Nedovic (Ballerup, Denmark) and guard/forward Jasmina Ilic (Becej, Serbia).

Colorado's win gave the Buffaloes a 31-28 series advantage and it marks the first time since 1999 the season series ends in a split.

Colorado's win guarantees the Buffaloes no less than a No. 10 seed in the upcoming Big 12 Tournament. After today's action CU is in a three-way tie with Texas and Texas Tech for seventh at 6-9 with Oklahoma State in sixth at 7-8. Oklahoma State and Texas own tiebreakers over the Buffaloes while CU would own the tiebreaker over Texas Tech. Missouri (5-9 Big 12) plays Oklahoma in Norman tomorrow. The winner of a tiebreaker between Missouri and Colorado won't be able to be determined until next week's games are played. Colorado is at Nebraska on Tuesday while Missouri hosts Kansas Thursday

Colorado outscored Kansas 17-5 to end the first half and the Jayhawks scored just two points in the final 5:06 of the first half.

Kansas' 18 points in the first half were the fewest given up by Colorado this season. The previous low was 22 against Colorado State on Nov. 29 (CU won 56-51). The 18 points are the second-lowest given up by CU this season. The Buffs allowed just 16 to Kansas State in the second half of their 66-55 win on Jan. 31.

Kansas' 50 points was lowest total allowed by the Buffs all season. The previous was 51 vs. Colorado State.
