
No. 43 CU Tennis Falls Short In Upset Bid, 4-3 At No. 32 BYU

The Cougars have won five in a row and improve to 7-4, while the Buffaloes' three-match winning streak is snapped falling to 6-3.
Trailing 1-0 after the doubles point, CU could muster only three singles wins of the six singles slots.
Sophomore Monica Milewski won her fourth straight at No. 1 singles defeating Lauren Jones, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3; junior Veera Nurmi defeated Kristina Doerr in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 for her fourth triumph in a row; and at No. 6 singles, Melisa Esposito swept Dolly Chang, 6-2, 6-2, also winning her fourth consecutive match.
Overall in dual match play, Milewski improves to 7-2, Nurmi is 6-3, and Esposito is 7-1.
In doubles, the Buffaloes picked up a win at No. 3 doubles with Esposito and Martina Sedivec defeating Kristina Doerr and Dolly Chang, 8-5.
Esposito/Sedivec remain unbeaten at 4-0, while Sedivec has won 12 of 13 doubles matches during the 2006-07 season.
CU returns home to play conference rival No. 14 Baylor on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. at the Millennium Hotel Harvest House.
