
Tennis Rolls To 15th Team Victory, Defeat Sooners, 6-1

The Buffaloes, ranked No. 35 nationally in the latest Fila/Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll won a season-high fifth straight match and improve to 15-6 on the season. CU also improves to 8-2 in the Big 12 Conference, while
CU's overall and conference victories are team bests under eight-year head coach Nicole Kenneally and are the most wins for a CU women's team since the 1999 spring.

The home team began the day securing the doubles point for the 15th time during dual play taking two of three slots from the Sooners. At No. 2, Monica Milewski and Franziska Jendrian improved their conference record to 7-2 defeating Monica Purice and Christi Baxley, 8-5. The Buffaloes clinched the doubles point at No. 3 with Melisa Esposito and Martina Sedivec edging Chelsea Orr and Rachael Cox, 8-6.
The triumph was Esposito/Sedivec's eighth straight win against conference competition to remain unbeaten and improved their dual record to 12-2. It was also Sedivec's 21st doubles victory of the year in 25 outings.
In singles, CU kept the momentum rolling making it 2-0 with Milewski's abbreviated win at No. 1 singles after her opponent became injured and was forced to default trailing, 3-0.
Milewski, the No. 35 nationally singles player won her fifth straight match and improves to 16-5 in dual play (25-8 overall).
CU made it 3-0 with Esposito claiming a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Anne Carter at No. 6 for her 14th win of the spring and fifth straight victory. The Buffaloes then clinched the team victory behind Jendrian's straight set winner over Christi Baxley, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4. Jendrian has won of her last five matches.
Gleisy Torres Torres and Camila Belassi added the fifth and sixth points at their respective singles positions. Torres Torres won her fifth of sixth singles match defeating Chelsea Orr 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5; and Belassi rallied to defeat Monica Purice 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (6) at No. 2.
Milewski (25), Torres Torres (24) and Jendrian (21) are the first CU trio to win 20 or more matches in a single year since the 1998-99 season.
