DeMoor And Gioscia Compete At Air Force Open

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. ? Seth DeMoor recorded his first collegiate first-place finish at the Air Force Open on the Eisenhower Golf Course on Friday afternoon.
DeMoor finished the 8 kilometer race in 25 minutes, 57.77 seconds. In doing so, he almost finished a full minute ahead of runner-up Scott Balcao of Air Force who ran a mark of 26:51.87.
Rachel Gioscia was the runner-up in the women's 6k race. She ran a time of 24:26.44. Gioscia finished over one minute ahead of the rest of the field. Phalen French (USAFA) was third with a mark of 25:42.07. Ashley Birger won the race in 23:59.32.
This was the first race of the season for DeMoor and Gioscia.
The varsity team will compete at the Big 12 Championship on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the ISU Cross Country Course in Ames, Iowa. The women will run first at 10 a.m. (CST), with the men following at 11.
