Colorado-Nebraska Notes

February 06, 2008 | Women's Basketball

Wednesday marked the 1,000th game in Colorado women's basketball history. The Buffaloes now sport an all time record of 621-379 (.621).

Colorado dropped its sixth-straight to Nebraska and third-straight at home. The six-game win streak for Nebraska is the most in the 62 game series. Colorado still holds a 38-24 all-time lead.

Colorado is the midst of a season-long four game losing streak and has lost seven of eight overall.

Aija Putnina had three blocks on the evening and moved into 11th place on CU's all-time list with 52.

Jackie McFarland was held to her fewest points since being held scoreless in her first ever Big 12 game, at Nebraska on Jan. 5, 2005. She was held with out a field goal attempt in the first half for the first time in her 109-game career. She was held with out a field goal for the first time since going 0-for-4 at Iowa State on Feb. 2, 2005.

McFarland had 10 rebounds for the 45th double-digit rebounding performance of her career. She needs just one more to tie Erin Scholz (1993-97) for second on CU's all-time list.

Caley Dow had a season-high eight points and seven rebounds. The eight points were her most since scoring eight at Kansas State on Feb. 14, 2007.

Bianca Smith tied a career-high with five 3-point field goals, equaling her output against Iowa State on Jan. 10, 2007. Her 19 points were the second most in her career, trailing only her 22 against Vanderbilt earlier this season.

Whitney Houston had 10 points, her most in a Big 12 game this season, and the most since scoring 11 against Siena on Nov. 23. It's her most in a Big 12 game since scoring 13 at Nebraska on Feb. 27, 2007.
