May 15, 2008 | Skiing
BOULDER - University of Colorado two-time individual national champion Maria Grevsgaard was named the 2007-08 female Collegiate Skier of the Year by FasterSkier.com, the Web site announced Wednesday.
Grevsgaard proved to be the most dominant skier on the collegiate circuit this year, winning 11 of 12 races, including the coveted NCAA sweep. She earned All-American honors in both the freestyle and classical disciplines at the 2008 NCAA Championships in Bozeman, Mont., and her 19 career wins make her CU's all-time winningest skier.
Colorado will return seven of its 11 student-athletes who competed for the Buffs at NCAA's, including Grevsgaard, who will look to build on her records during her final year of eligibility.
