Pannone Leads Buffs at ISU Invite

Pannone earned his best career finish and finished the 8k course in 25 minutes, 58.67 seconds. Clayton Carper (ISU) won the race in 25:27.69.
Four Buffs finished the race in under 26 minutes and all seven completed the race within eight seconds of each other.
Sophomores Matt Tebo (25:58.97) and Richard Medina (25:59.25) took third and fourth, respectively Junior transfer Jordan Kyle placed fifth (25:59.59) while senior Bradley Harkrader was sixth and finished just over 26 minutes (26:00.29). Redshirt freshmen Christian Thompson (26:00.68) and Andy Wacker (26:04.77) were seventh and eight, respectively.
Junior Aislinn Ryan led the CU women's team. She was the ninth racer to cross the finish in 22:22.00.
Sophomores Allison Sawyer (22:37.00) and Laura Thweatt (23:04.00) placed 12th and 18th, respectively. Senior Morgan Ekemo finished 19th overall, completing race in 23:05.00. Junior Emily Hanenburg placed 22nd (23:08.00). Emma Coburn, who won the CU Time Trial at the end of August, led the CU freshmen women. She placed 25th (23:29.00). Katie Cumming was 29th (23:37.00), Kaylen Slack was 35th (24:00.00) and Katie Smith took 48th (26:05.00).
The Buffs will be back in action on Oct. 4 when they host the Rocky Mountain Shootout.
