Buth Honored By CVU.COM

BOULDER ? University of Colorado senior Alex Buth was named a Top Performer for the week of Sept. 22-28 by CVU.com, as announced on Tuesday.

The East Grand Rapids, Mich. native, led the Buffs to a five-set come-from-behind win against Texas A&M last Saturday night at the Coors Events Center. She recorded a career-best 26 kills to average 5.20 kills per set. Buth attacked at a .429 clip with five errors on 49 swings. She became the first Buff to record more than 20 kills in a single match this season with her effort.

Buth, a right side hitter, also tied a match-best with 17 digs (3.40 dps) while adding five assists and three block assists.

CVU.com names one national player of the week and up to 10 top performers each week.

The CU volleyball team is currently 8-4 overall and 2-1 in the Big 12 and have already shown improvement from last year's 6-22, 1-19 record. CU has won both of its five-set matches this season; compared to going 0-10 in five game matches in 2007.

CU is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 1 against Baylor in Waco, Texas. The match is set for a 6 p.m. start.
