Soccer Signs Six to NLI

University of Colorado women's soccer head coach Bill Hempen has signed six prospective student athletes to a National Letter of Intent, Hempen announced Wednesday.

Amy Barczuk (Centennial, Colo.), Erin Bricker (Moraga, Calif.), Quinn Krier (Littleton, Colo.), Shayelyn Marshall (Mead, Colo.), Kelly Moore (Norcross, Ga.), and Lauren Shaner (Longmont, Colo.) will be the six scholarship players joining the Colorado soccer program, and Alexi Rakestraw (Tampa, Fla.) will join them as a recruited walk-on after confirming her intent to enroll in the University.

"This class is right in line with the kinds of players that we recruit in order to fit with the program's philosophy," said Hempen. "We have one simple goal: recruit soccer players. We don't look for right backs, left backs, center midfielders, but rather kids that can play the game.

"We are very pleased that once again our recruiting class has the state of Colorado well represented. We work extremely hard to find the right student athlete for our program and we are thrilled that half our roster is dotted with home grown kids."
