Kyle Named to Big 12 Winter Community of Champions

IRVING, Texas - University of Colorado senior Jordan Kyle has been named to the Winter Chick-Fil-A Community of Champions, as recognized by the Big 12 Conference.

Kyle, a member of the cross country and track and field teams, hails from Fishers, Ind. and is on track to graduate this spring with a degree in marketing. He has been a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for the past two years since transferring to CU from Indiana University and is currently serving as a co-president.

Kyle has been involved with many different community service programs at CU, including Read with the Buffs and Healthy Kids Day. As an officer for SAAC, he has met with the senior staff in the athletic department to give a voice for his fellow student-athletes.

Kyle is a two-time All-American for the Buffs and ranks ninth on the CU all-timer performers list in the 10,000-meter run. He recorded his mark of 28:52.29 at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invite on May 2, 2009, in Palo Alto, Calif.

Each Big 12 institution has one student-athlete named to the Chick-Fil-A Community of Champions team in the fall, winter and spring seasons. Recipients are honored based on a grade point average of 3.00 or higher, being involved with at least one community service project within a student organization, on campus, or part of the athletic department as well as being able to demonstrate leadership and sportsmanship on and off the field.
