Colorado, Colorado State Notes

November 30, 2011 | Men's Basketball

TEAM

  • CU still leads the all-time series with CSU 86-36, including a 35-27 mark in Fort Collins. Since 2000, CU leads 8-4, but is 3-3 at CSU including dropping two straight at Moby.
  • CU falls to 0-3 this season when no player off the bench scores double-digits in points. The Buffs are 4-0 in games in which a bench player does score 10-plus points (Askia Booker in wins over Georgia, Air Force, and Western Michigan; Sabatino Chen in the win over Ft. Lewis).
  • CU is now 2-8 under Tad Boyle when scoring in the 60s.
  • CU's three losses this season have all been by single digits. CU's four-year total of single-digit losses is now 30.
  • The loss snaps a streak of nine consecutive wins for the Buffs inside Colorado borders (eight in Boulder, one at Air Force) going back to a 73-70 overtime loss to Texas A&M on Feb. 9, 2011. The loss also snaps a streak of 18 straight non-conference wins in the Centennial State (17 in Boulder, one at Air Force) with the last loss also coming here at Moby Arena on Dec. 10, 2009 (CSU won 77-62).
  • The loss marks head coach Tad Boyle's first to a school in the state of Colorado since falling to Air Force on Dec. 6, 2008 while coaching at Northern Colorado. Boyle had won eight straight against Colorado schools coming into tonight. CU's last loss to a Colorado school came on Dec. 10, 2009, also at Moby against CSU, snapping a streak of three straight against in-state schools.
  • CU shot 13-of-29 (44.8 percent) from the free throw line tonight, the lowest percentage for the Buffs since shooting 42.9 percent (6-of-14) against Oklahoma State on Feb. 25, 2009.
  • CU has shot under 60.0 percent from the charity stripe in each of the past three games, the first time since the 2005-06 season (three straight against Mercer, Dartmouth, and Savannah State; all CU wins) that the Buffs have gone three straight shooting under that mark from the free throw line.
  • CU shot 44.8 percent from the free throw line and 45.0 percent from the three-point line tonight; the last time the Buffs had a higher percentage from beyond the arc than from the charity stripe was in the 74-66 win at Kansas State on Jan. 12, 2011 (66.7 percent from three, 57.1 percent from the free throw line).
  • After committing only seven turnovers against Georgia on Monday night, CU had nine in the first half tonight. The Buffs finished with 14.
  • CU's seven-point halftime deficit (32-25) tied their largest this season, matching 33-26 against Wichita State. The Buffs largest deficit was 12 with 16:43 left in the second half before rallying to briefly take a late lead.

SPENCER DINWIDDIE

  • Dinwiddie led CU with 16 points tonight, matching his career-high of 16 that also led CU on Monday night against Georgia. Dinwiddie scored 11 in the first half, including a stretch of 3:52 in which he scored nine (9:23 to 5:31).
  • Dinwiddie also set a career high by pulling down eight rebounds.

ANDRE ROBERSON

  • Roberson pulled down 12 rebounds tonight, preserving his 12.0 per game average. The average is tied for fourth nationally, not counting other games played tonight. His 12.0 per game average would tie Cliff Meely in 1968-69 for the fifth-highest in CU history.
  • Roberson has notched double-digit rebounds in six of seven games this season, and 18 times in his career. The one game this season in which he didn't have double-digit boards, he was limited to 11 minutes due to foul trouble against Western Michigan.
  • Through his first 45 games at CU, Roberson is averaging 14.5 boards per 40 minutes. This is the highest per 40 average in CU history, though minutes records only go back to 1978-79. The previous high was Stephane Pelle (1999-2003) at over a full rebound less per 40 with 13.4.
  • CU is now 8-2 over the past two seasons when Roberson has 12+ boards, the other loss being earlier this season against Maryland.

NATE TOMLINSON

  • Tomlinson scored 11 points tonight, the third time this season he has been in double-digits scoring. Last season Tomlinson only scored 10+ once.
  • Tomlinson played in his 100th career game tonight, tying for 35th on the CU career chart.

AUSTIN DUFAULT

  • Dufault scored 13 points tonight, giving him double-digits for the fourth time in last five games. This marks only the fifth time in his career that he has scored 10+ at least four times over a five game stretch (twice last season and twice as a freshman).
  • Dufault played in his 107th career game tonight, tying him for 26th on the CU career chart.

JEREMY ADAMS

  • Adams scored the first points of his CU career tonight after making his debut against Georgia. Adams finished with five points.
