It was the largest crowd since Feb. 21, 2004 (Coach Ceal Barry's next-to-last season), when CU defeated Oklahoma State 72-57 before 6,163.
-Series Update. The Lady Bears lead, 12-8 (5-5 in Boulder) having won the last eight games in the series, all when it has been ranked and CU has not; CU's last win was 69-59 in Waco on Jan. 7, 2004, when the Buffs were ranked No. 14 and Baylor No. 24. This was Baylor's most decisive win in Boulder, besting an 84-65 win on Feb. 26, 2005, when they came to town ranked No. 6.
-Linda Lappe. The seventh head coach in CU history is 15-14 in her first year, trailing only Rene Portland (22-9 in 1978-79) and Sox Walseth (28-5 in 1980-81) in first year won-loss record, and can become the third to have an initial winning season.
-Brittany Spears (23 points/9 rebounds/2 steals/2 blocks). She moved into 10th on the all-time Big 12 Conference scoring list when she scored her third point of the game (and ended the game in ninth). She has scored 521 points this season, becoming just the second player in school history to score 500 in three seasons (she just missed her freshman year, finishing with 472); Jackie McFarland also scored 500+ three times (also sophomore through senior years). She recorded her 106th career game in double-digits (43 20-plus games) trailing only Lisa Van Goor (108; 1980-85). Spears has now scored in double digits in 27-of-29 games this season. Her two blocks gave her 148 for her career, moving her past Reagan Scott (147, 1993-97) into third place all-time at Colorado.
-Meagan Malcolm-Peck (16 points/10 rebounds/4-8 3Pt-FG). She scored a season-high 16 points, and recorded her third double-double of the year. She moved into 14th place on CU's all-time list for 3-point field goals made with 57; the four made matched her career high, as she also had four vs. Yale last year.
