TEAM
- Colorado improves to 16-7 in overall play and 5-7 in Pac-12 play with the 69-59 win tonight over the Arizona Wildcats.
- It was the 11th meeting between the two teams with the Buffaloes now holding an 8-3 series edge. Colorado is 5-1 against Arizona in Boulder.
- The 10-point margin of victory tonight is the highest the Buffs have had in Pac-12 play. Their previous high of six came at Utah on December 31 (56-52).
- Colorado has now been even or out-rebounded its opponent in 18 of 23 games. The Buffs made great improvement from their first meeting with Arizona in Tucson where they were outrebounded 51-30. Their margin of +14 (41-27) tonight.
- The Buffs had their first 40-point first half in conference play since they played at Texas A&M on January 8th of the 2010-11 season. It is the first 40-point first half since they scored 44 against Weber State on December 17th.
- The Buffs had a great defensive stand tonight, holding the Wildcats to nine points under their season average of 67.4. Arizona is ranked 5th in the Pac-12 in scoring offense.
- Colorado had eight 3-point field goals tonight, tying the highest total since they played at Washington on January 5th earlier this season.
- The Buffs held talented Arizona guard Davellyn Whyte to only 10 points tonight on 3-8 shooting. Whyte is ranked 2nd in the league in scoring, averaging 17.4 a game.
- The Wildcats shot an outstanding 63.6% from the field in the first half. It was good for the highest field goal percentage of any opponent this year. The Buffs stepped up the defense in the second half, holding them to only 25% from the field.
CHUCKY JEFFERY
- Scoring 21 points tonight, Jeffery has now scored in double-figures in 19 of Colorado's 23 games. This is her sixth 20+ point game this season, with the last occurring against California on January 12th.
- With 5 assists against Arizona, Jeffery now sits at 12th all-time for the Buffs with 321. She surpassed Coach Linda Lappe (318) and Jenny Roulier (319).
- Jeffery broke a 3-point cold streak tonight as she was 3-25 from beyond the arc in her previous seven starts. She had career highs in both 3-pointers made and attempted after shooting 5-9 from deep tonight.
JASMINE SBOROV
- Sborov had a career high 10 points tonight, surpassing her previous best of six which came against Stanford (1/14/12). She was 4-6 from the field tonight, and is shooting 58.3% from the field in her last three games.
- Sborov's seven rebounds tonight break her previous high of five, which she last had against Oregon last weekend. Her three assists were good for a tie with her career high, which she has reached two other times this season. (USC 1/26/12, and San Francisco 11/15/11).
