DeWitt Takes Fourth in Heptathlon At ISU Classic

AMES, Iowa - Jason DeWitt, a sophomore on the University of Colorado track and field team, recorded a personal best 4,984 points in the heptathlon to record a fourth-place finish at the ISU Classic on Friday.

DeWitt notched 636 more points than his former best of 4,348 points. He started the day off with a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 8.58. DeWitt finished the meet with a time of 2 minutes, 58.7 seconds in the 1,000.

CU had a great day in the pole vault. DeWitt won the event with a huge PR of 14 feet, 9 inches, tying CU's heptathlon's seventh best mark ever. His previous best was 14-01.25 which he set on Jan. 28 at the Air Force Team Challenge. Taylor had the 10th best mark for the Buffs, clearing a personal best height of 14-05.25, surpassing his mark of 14-04.25 from the Potts Invite on Jan. 20. 

Adam Salzmann, who is competing unattached during the indoor season, won the meet with 5,238 points. He won the 1,000 after finishing in 2:40.99.
