Morris Preps For NCAA Indoor Championships

BOULDER - Junior Joe Morris will represent the University of Colorado on Friday and Saturday, March 9-10, at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Nampa, Idaho.

Morris will compete in the 60-meter dash and currently ranks 14th in the NCAA Division I. He recorded a season-best time of 6.64 at the Arkansas Final Qualifier last Friday, finishing second overall. Morris is the CU record holder at the event. He ran 6.63 in 2010 at the Potts Indoor Invitational. Morris owns the top four 60 times in CU history.

The Golden, Colo., native was an USTFCCCA All-America honorable mention selection last year after finishing ninth in the prelims at the NCAA meet.

Boise State will host the meet at Jacksons Indoor Track. The prelims for the 60 are on Friday, March 9, at 6:30 p.m. and the finals are on Saturday, March 10, at 7:15 p.m.
