Eleven Buffs Named To USCSCA All-Academic Team

DENVER - The University of Colorado placed 11 skiers on the 2014 National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team, announced Wednesday by the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association.
Six men and five women were honored for the Buffaloes on the team, which requires a 3.5 grade point average in the classroom and participation in the NCAA Western Regional on the slopes and trails.
Among the honorees were eight alpine and three Nordic skiers. Of the eight alpine, four men and four women to go along with two men's Nordic honorees and one women's Nordic.
There were two seniors, Andreas Haug and Andreas Hoye, on the squad with one junior, Rune Oedegaard, and two freshmen, Roger Carry and Maja Solbakken. The majority of the team are sophomores, Thea Grosvold, Henrik Gunnarsson, Jessica Honkonen, Brooke Wales, Clare Wise and Adam Zika.
Haug earned his fourth mention to the team while Hoye and Oedegaard have made the team three times now. Grosvold, Wales, Wise and Zika are all making their second appearance on the team.
The Buffs are prepping to defend their national championship at the 2014 NCAA Skiing Championships, set for March 5-8, 2014 in Park City.
