Scheele Earns Academic All-District Honors

EUGENE, Ore. - University of Colorado soccer student-athlete Kate Scheele was named CoSIDA second team Academic All-District VII on Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Scheele is the first Buffs soccer student-athlete to earn the award since Hayley Hughes in 2013 and the seventh to earn Academic All-District in school history.

Scheele is a senior goalkeeper from Seattle, Wash. She currently has a GPA of 3.89 and is majoring in history. This season, she has 0.89 goals-against average, ranking fifth in the Pac-12 in that category. She also has a .745 save percentage and has posted a 7-5-1 record in goal, starting 13 matches and appearing in 15. Her three solo shutouts this season lead the team.

Scheele has a career GAA of 0.81, which ranks first in CU history. Her 14 career shutouts rank fourth.

To qualify for Academic All-District, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher and have been at the current institution for at least two consecutive semesters prior to the beginning of the season. The teams are voted on by members of CoSIDA.
