Kinzner To Represent Canada In Honduras

OTTAWA, Ontario - University of Colorado soccer player Sarah Kinzner has been selected to her home country Canada's U-20 team to compete at the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship. Canada is vying for a spot in the 2016 FIFA U-20 World Cup. CONCACAF competition will take place Dec. 3-13 in Honduras.

Canada's 20-player squad will head to Honduras on Monday and will play three matches in San Pedro Sula against Trinidad and Tobago (Dec. 3), Jamaica (Dec. 5) and Honduras (Dec. 7). From two four-team groups, the top four will advance to the semifinals on Dec. 11, and the finals and third-place match on Dec. 13. The top three teams will advance to the 2016 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Kinzner, a native of Calgary, Alberta, is viewed as one of the leaders of the Canadian U-20 squad, appearing in 13 international matches and netting two goals and two assists.

As a freshman at Colorado in 2015, Kinzner started all 20 matches as a midfielder and scored one goal and had two assists. Her lone goal came in a 3-3 tie with No. 21 Arizona on Oct. 30.
