Dorrell Named Gatorade Tennessee Volleyball Player of the Year

BOULDER — University of Colorado incoming freshman Lauren Dorrell (Nashville, Tenn.) has been named the Gatorade Tennessee Volleyball Player of the Year.

Dorrell, who signed a National Letter of Intent in November to play for the Buffs in 2016, led her high school team (Father Ryan High School) to a 40-10 record and the Division II-AA state championship this past season. She was named the Irish's MVP after recording 466 kills, 314 digs and 46 blocks. Dorrell was also named a 2015-16 AVCA Under Armour Second Team All-American.

Colorado finished the 2015 season with a 19-13 overall record and was fifth in the Pac-12 with an 11-9 mark.
