Buffs Finish Strong In Seattle

SEATTLE — Several University of Colorado track and field athletes stayed in Seattle to compete at the UW Open on Sunday, and they came away with some nice performances.
Junior Brady Rutt recorded a third place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 56-2. Junior Sophie Hallam-Eames was fourth on the women's side with a throw of 53-8.25. Senior Kellie Lind had a top-10 finish in the weight throw with a mark of 48-11.75.
Freshman Mariah Walker had a nice outing in the shot put, placing fourth overall with a toss of 44-5.25, while junior Abrianna Torres was sixth (42-11.50). Torres also competed in the high jump and tied for seventh with freshman Rajon O'Quinn at 5-2.25.
Mark Jones was the only Buff to compete on the track on Sunday. He raced to a seventh place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.56.
