BOULDER – The United States Under-20 Women's National Team has invited Alex Vidger, incoming freshman for the University of Colorado soccer team to participate at its camp this week held in Carson, Calif.

Vidger, a defender from Castle Rock, Colo. signed a national letter of intent this past February to continue her education and play for the Buffaloes. She is one of 24 players tabbed by U.S. head coach Michelle French competing at the seven-day camp (April 11-18), which is being held in conjunction with a U-19 training camp. The camp is taking place at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center, located just south of Los Angeles, Calif. and features 12 collegiate athletes and 12 youth players currently competing on their club teams.

CU's newest recruit will have an opportunity to get an early look at one of two Pac-12 Conference opponents the Buffs will face this season. The U-20s will play two split squad games on Friday, April 17 against USC and defending conference champion UCLA before the camp concludes on Saturday.

As a member of the camp's team, Vidger now has a chance to qualify for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup that will take place in Papau, New Guinea.

A four-year standout at Rock Canyon High School, Vidger has previously participated on several other developmental camp teams. She was invited to an Olympic Development Camp on three different occasions from 2011-13 and was a member of the Regional IV Camp in 2012.
