Soccer Finishes Spring Season Undefeated

BOULDER – The University of Colorado women's soccer team has finished their spring season with an undefeated record after topping Nebraska 2-1 at Prentup Field in its final match.
Colorado hosted its former Big 12 rival on April 18 and earned its ninth win of the spring by defeating the Cornhuskers, 2-1 at Prentup Field.
Forward Brittney Stark anchored the Buffaloes yet again, tallying both goals in the match. She gave CU the 1-0 advantage before halftime off an assist by soon-to-be senior Olivia Pappalardo. After the break, Nebraska tied it at 1-1, but Buffs answered soon after when Emily Paxton and Brie Hooks had the double-assist on Stark's game-winner.
The Buffs finished with a perfect 9-0 record this spring and Stark led the team in scoring, notching seven goals. Hooks was second on the squad in scoring with three and she also had two assists. Forward Madi Krauser, who begins her senior year this fall had a team-high four assists over the nine-match scheduled. Colorado only allowed two goals, earning six shut outs as the Buffs outscored their opponents by a combined 13-2.
Including last year's spring schedule, CU has posted a combined 15-0-2 record in 17 matches. The Buffs now look forward to welcoming their seven incoming freshman to the team this summer as they begin training for the start of the regular season in August.
