Question: What was your fondest memory as a Colorado Buffalo?
Answer: I loved competing against some of the best players in the nation, both in the Big-12 and in the Pac-12. I also really enjoyed playing next to some of my best friends for five years. I would say my favorite moment was my last game senior year in the NCAA tournament against Minnesota.
Q: Which opponent did you enjoy playing against throughout your career? Why?
A: When competing in the Big-12 I really enjoyed playing against Texas and Nebraska. Those matches were some of the best college sports environments I've ever been apart of. While playing in the Pac-12, my last two years, I enjoyed playing against girls I grew up playing back in California.
Q: In what ways did the CU Volleyball program prepare you for your professional career?
A: The intense training schedules our program has was very helpful but also just competing with some of the top teams and players in the nation was enough to prepare me for my professional career.
Q: Have you had a chance to play with a former Buff or a former conference opponent while playing overseas?
A: Yes. I ran into a few players overseas that played for Pac-12 teams. One of the girls I actually remember playing against since I was 16 years old in different club tournaments. Small world.
Q: What was your experience like as a professional player?
A: It was great! Very different than competing in college because you are not trying to balance school and practice schedules, so there is a lot more down time and ability to focus on your game.
Q: What team(s) did you play for?
A: I played in Lille, France.
Q: What was it like living in a different country?
A: Totally different but very intriguing and interesting. I met people from ALL over the world. I had so many different nationalities on my team, which allowed me to I get to know a lot of different cultures. I have met some pretty awesome people and have made some lifelong friends.
Q: What is some advice you wish you were given prior to playing overseas?
A: Have an open mind when traveling and getting to know a new place. You will always want to look back and remember all of your experiences. Not everyone is able to do it!
Q: Are you still an active member in the volleyball community? If so, in what ways?
A: I came back from France this past December and took some time off from the game. I have my first outdoor tournament coming up in July 2015. Can't seem to give this game up!
