Zuri Smith is our sixth and final freshman in our Getting To Know series. Learn about the freshman outside hitter from Sumter, S.C.
Question: What are you looking forward to most this upcoming season as a freshman?
Answer: I am looking forward to improving my skills overall and developing as a player.
Q: The Pac-12 is always a tough conference to play in with many perennial powerhouses. Which team(s) are you most excited about playing and why?
A: I'm excited about playing Stanford and Oregon because Oregon is my hometown and Stanford because I think they have a strong team that can push us to be a better team.
Q: Why did you chose to play volleyball at Colorado?
A: Coach Liz and I connected really well and when I went on my official tour I fell in love it everything.
Q: Who has been the biggest influence on you so far and why?
A: I would have to say Eddie; she has motivated me to play harder.
Q: If you could play another sport besides volleyball in college, what would it be and why?
A: I would say basketball because have played for club teams and high school. I got a few offers for basketball and volleyball; I just stuck with volleyball.
