Volleyball Moves Up To 21st In AVCA Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. — After the first weekend of the volleyball season, the University of Colorado has moved up three spots to 21st in the AVCA Division I Coaches Poll.
CU, which was 24th in the preseason poll, went 2-1 at the Omni Hotels Colorado Volleyball Classic last weekend, defeating then-No. 9 Florida State and Oklahoma after falling to San Diego, which is ranked 23rd in this week's poll.
The Pac-12 is again well represented in the rankings with eight teams listed (Stanford, Washington, USC, Oregon, Arizona State, Arizona, CU and UCLA), while two others are receiving votes (Utah and Oregon State).
The Buffs will be on television 14 times this season. Their upset win against FSU was the first of 13 matches on Pac-12 Network. This weekend, CU will be on Big Ten Network when it faces No. 6 Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m. MT in its second contest of the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge. The Buffs square off against top-ranked Penn State on Friday, Sept. 4 at 5:30 p.m. MT. That match will be streamed on BTN Plus (paid subscription is required).
Season tickets can still be purchased and start at just $25 for general admission. Reserved seats are $40 for the season. New this year is the Volleyball VIP Package which gives fans a reserved seat, access to VIP parking, pre-match chalk talks with the coaches, special entrance access and admission the volleyball banquet. Single match tickets are also available. General admission seats are $5 and reserved seats are $8. Kids 12 and under are free. During the non-conference portion of the schedule, fans can receive a free bag of popcorn at each contest.
Fans can also purchase the Women's Sports Pass, which is new this season and supports women's basketball, soccer and volleyball. For just $125, over 50 percent off the single game box office price for those three sports, the Women's Sports Pass allows for seating in general admission areas at each venue for three of the most successful programs at CU. Once you purchase the pass, you will be mailed season tickets for all three sports.
