Volleyball Team Reports For Fall Camp

August 09, 2015 | Volleyball

BOULDER—The University of Colorado volleyball team reported Sunday for its fall training block.

“We're excited to go into the 2015 season on the tail of what has been two very successful years for us,” Colorado head coach Liz Kritza said on Saturday. “This past season we made a second round NCAA tournament appearance [again], and had the first First-Team All-American for the program. As the head coach of this program, I'm excited because I returned six of those seven players.”

Those six players are seniors Alexis Austin (OH) and Nicole Edelman (S), juniors Katelyn Cuff (MB) and Cierra Simpson (L/DS), as well as sophomores Anna Pfefferle (MB) and Gabby Simpson (S/H).

Colorado opens its 2015 season at the Coors Events Center, hosting the Omni Hotels Colorado Volleyball Classic. CU faces San Diego on August 28 at 6:30 p.m. On August 29, the Buffs will take on Florida State (12 p.m.) and Oklahoma (7:30 p.m.).

Season tickets start at just $25 for general admission and are on sale now online or by calling 303-49-BUFFS. Reserved seats are $40 for the season and floor seats are available for $50. Single match tickets are also available. General admission seats are $5, reserved seats are $8 and floor seats can be purchased for $10. Kids 12 and under are free.

Fans can also purchase the Women's Sports Pass, which is new this season and supports women's basketball, soccer and volleyball. For just $125, over 50 percent off the single game box office price for those three sports, the Women's Sports Pass allows for seating in general admission areas at each venue for three of the most successful programs at CU. Once you purchase the pass, you will be mailed season tickets for all three sports.

In the past two years, these three programs have combined to win more than 70 percent of their home contests, combining for a 64-26-1 record in one of, if not the, toughest conference in America for each sport. In the past three seasons, each sport has made the NCAA Tournament with both soccer and volleyball making the Big Dance each of the past two seasons.
