Weather: Temps are expected to be in the mid 60s today in Palo Alto. Humidity is high, 79 percent, but there's no chance of precipitation and winds are calm.

Fourth Quarter:

  • :00 - Buffs win as they stop Stanford's final play.
  • :04 - CU trying to run the clock out, is forced into a safety.  Colorado 10, Stanford 5.
  • 1:37 - Isaiah Oliver gets the interception! The third of the game for the Buffs.
  • 2:13 - The fourth time is the charm.  After missing two himself and the Buffs three, Chris Graham connects from 22 yards out.  Kyle Evans picked up a huge first down on 4th-and-1 from the CU 11 to knock a few more minutes off the clock.  Colorado 10, Stanford 3.
  • 6:38 - Tedric Thompson gets his second interception of the game near midfield, and he returns it to the Stanford 20 yard line.
  • 8:36 - Kyle Evans gets the Buffs out of a deep hole with two big runs, but then offense stalls.  Alex Kinney with his best punt of the season, 59 yards and downed at the Stanford 5. Field possition successfully flipped.
  • 10:34 - Driving hard, Stanford fumbles and Kenneth Olugbode picks up the ball inside the Stanford 5 yardline. The Buffs D holds again.

Third Quarter:

  • 1:00 - The Buffs D does it again, holding the Stanford offense to a three-and-out.  A huge punt from Stanford and blocking penalty on the return puts the Buffs in the hole, 1st-and-10 from the CU 6.
  • 2:48 - The Buffs again drive and stall in the red zone, on a questionable call of pass interference in the end zone that otherwise would've resulted in a CU touchdown.  Punter Alex Kinney came on to try a field goal and misses from 31 yards out. Stlil Colorado 7, Stanford 3.
  • 6:02 - The Buffs give up a few first downs on defense, but Stanford elects to go for it on 4th-and-8, and the Buffs get a turnover on downs.
  • 11:24 - The Buffs offense comes out on fire on the first drive, quickly getting to the Stanford 5 yard line.  But a sack and then a penalty force the Buffs to try a 28-yard field goal, which misses wide right.

Second Quarter:

  • 0:00 - Tedric Thompson gets an interception and the Buffs down it to end the half.  Colorado 7, Stanford 3.
  • 1:00 - The Buffs pick up one first down, but then stall. Kinney's punt is fair caught by Stanford inside its 10.
  • 1:46 - Stanford gets one big play to the CU 45, but then moves backwards.  Three penalties and a sack gives the Cardinal a 4th-and-46. CU to get the ball back. On the sack, N.J. Falo forced a fumble that drove Stanford back inside its 20.
  • 6:50 - The Buffs defense forced another 3-and-out, the third of the game.  Phillip Lindsay gets hot, picking up gains of 8, 8 and then 26 before the drive stalls.  Chris Graham missed the 43-yard field goal.  On the drive, Sefo Liufau hit Lee Walker for 13 yards, his 1,215th career pass attempt, a new CU record, passing Cody Hawkins.
  • 11:59 - The Buffs offense finally starts to flow and get on track, and the Buffs drive 9 plays in 73 yards in just 3:01 to take the lead.  Colorado 7, Stanford 3.

First Quarter:

  • 0:00 - Both teams go three-and-out to end the first quarter. Buffs ball to start the second.
  • 2:33 - The Cardinal drives 14 plays for 66 yards but the Buffs D stiffens in the red zone and Stanford settles for a field goal.  Stanford 3, Colorado 0.
  • 9:52 - The Buffs hold Stanford to a three-and-out, Jordan Carrell getting a sack on third down.  The Buffs offense then picks up two first downs before having to punt.  Stanford ball at its 25.
  • 15:00 - The Buffs won the toss, now 7-of-8 on the season, and deferred. Stanford will receive the opening kick.

Pregame Notes:

  • Colorado trails the all-time series with Stanford, 6-3, including 3-0 since the Buffs joined the Pac-12 in 2011.  The Buffs are attempting to halt a losing streak of 10 straight games in the state of California.
  • Getting out of the gate strong in both halves, the Buffs have outscored their opponents 35-0 in the first half drive and 24-7 on the first drive of the second half.  First downs in the first half drives are 21-6 and 13-8 in the second.  Total yards in those first half drives are 362-118 while the second half drives have been 359-190.
  • Sefo Liufau has 78 school records and could get a few more today.  He needs 12 pass attempts to reach Cody Hawkins school record of 1,214 in his career.  He needs 17 passes without an interception to surpoass Joel Klatt's school record of 139.  Liufau has three 100-plus pass attempts without an interception, the only QB in program history with more than one such streak.  He also needs five TD passes to tie Hawkins school mark of 60.
  • Jimmie Gilbert leads the nation in forced fumbles with five and he's forced four in the last three games, with at least one in each game.  He also leads the Pac-12 with 6.5 sacks on the season.
  • Ahkello Witherspoon is third nationally with 10 pass break-ups, just one behind the national lead of 11 by Oklahoma's Jordan thomas and Kent State's Najee Murray.
