CU Welcomes No. 15 Kentucky To Boulder On Saturday

BOULDER - Colorado's women's basketball team will welcome No. 15/19 Kentucky to Boulder on Saturday when the Buffs host the Wildcats at 7 p.m. at the Coors Events Center. Tickets will cost $3 for fans with a football ticket to Saturday's Washington State game.
CU enters the weekend 2-0 behind two strong performances from sophomore guards Kennedy Leonard and Alexis Robinson. Leonard had a career-high 26 points in the season opener against Northern Colorado, adding nine assists in the effort, and then scored 20 in a win over Air Force at home on Sunday and assisting on eight more baskets. Robinson scored 17 against UNC and a career-high 22 points against Air Force, also matching Leonard with eight assists on Sunday. CU has also had steady play from Haley Smith, who scored 10 points in both games.
The Wildcats opened the season with an 82-66 win over Miami (Fla.) and a 70-46 win against Albany. UK faces New Hampshire at home on Thursday before traveling to Boulder. Evelyn Akhator, a 6-3 senior forward, leads the Wildcats with 23.0 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game. Senior guard Makayla Epps also pours in 18.5 points and 5.5 assists per contest.
