In four games at Folsom thus far this season, the Buffs are 4-0. They have averaged 40.8 points per game in those wins and the defense has given up an average of just 9.8 per game.
The 8-2 Buffs are aiming for their 14th nine-win season in their history.
Colorado won the opening coin toss for the 10th time in 11 games this year (USC the only coin toss loss). The Buffs elected to defer to the second half with WSU electing to take the opening kickoff.

FIRST QUARTER

— Washington State gained one first down on a penalty after taking possession at its 25, but CU then forced a punt and Colorado took over at its own 19.
— Colorado took its first possession and marched 81 yards in 12 plays for a touchdown. Sefo Liufau complete four passes on the drive, including two third-down conversions. Phillip Lindsay covered the last 34 yards of the march with a 3-yard run, 22-yard run and a 9-yard touchdown run. Davis Price's PAT gave CU a 7-0 lead with 10:34 to go in first period.
— The Cougars took the ensuing kickoff and went 78 yards in nine plays. WSU converted a fourth-and-1 on the drive, then got a 32-yard run from Jamal Morrow to the CU 14. On the next play, Luke Falk threw a 14-yard scoring pass to Robert Lewis — and on the same play, CU safety Afolabi Laguda was called for targeting and ejected from the game. WSU's score tied the game at 7-7 with 7:27 to go in the quarter.
-- Colorado then turned the ball over on its next possession when Lindsay fumbled, giving WSU the ball at the CU 38. The Buffs defense held, though, and Erik Powell missed a 51-yard field goal to keep the score at 7-7.
-- The Buffs then drove into WSU territory but the drive stalled at the Cougars 28 when Liufau threw incomplete under pressure on fourth-and-2. The Cougars then needed just three plays and 38 seconds to score, with Falk hitting Morrow on a 46-yard scoring pass down the middle. WSU's touchdown with 2:30 left in the quarter gave the Cougars a 14-7 lead.
SECOND QUARTER
— After WSU's second touchdown, the Buffs drive inside WSU territory before the drive stalled. A CU punt put the Cougars back on their own 7. Washington State then drove to the Colorado 26 but on fourth-and-7, Ahkello Witherspoon knocked down a Falk pass to give the Buffs the ball.
— Colorado then used 10 plays to go 74 yards in 2:36 for the tying touchdown. Liufau hit Devin Ross for a 21-yard gain, a play made possible by a great block from Ento. Liufau then ducked an almost certain sack and scrambled away to throw a 12-yard completion to Jay MacIntyre on third-and-2. Liufau then carried three straight times from the 14, scoring from 3 yards out. Price's PAT tied the game at 14-14 with 7:35 to go in the half.
— Washington State answered CU's touchdown drive with a field goal, going 65 yards in 13 plays. WSU converted a pair of third downs on the drive, but CU held inside its own 20, forcing three incompletions after the Cougars had a first-and-10 from the 11. Powell's 28-yard FG gave WSU 1 17-14 lead with 4:23 to go in the half.
— Colorado couldn't move on the ensuing possession, enduring a rare 3-and-out. Liufau was sacked on third down and the Buffs punted to the WSU 40.
— Washington State then endured its own 3-and-out and a 1-yard punt put the Buffs at the WSU 48 with 49 seconds still to go in the half. Colorado moved to the Washington State 21, but a 39-yard field goal try with 8 second left in the half was wide right and the Buffs entered the locker room at intermission trailing 17-14.
THIRD QUARTER
—Colorado took the opening drive and drove 71 yards in 11 plays to take the lead. The Buffs converted two third-down plays, including a 16-yard Liufau run on third-and-3. One play later, Liufau made a great fake to Kyle Evans, then strolled untouched into the end zone for a 7-yard score as the Buffs took a 21-17 lead.
— Colorado then forced a WSU punt, but after moving into Cougars territory the drive stalled. CU gained 5 yards when the Buffs faced a fourth-and-7 and WSU took over at the CU 33.
—The Cougars then drove into CU territory. Colorado stopped WSU on a third-and-1, but on fourth-and-1, Morrow ran for 30 yards to the Colorado 33. Two plays later, another WSU run put the ball on CU's 7 and Falk completed a 7-play, 67-yard drive with a 7-yard TD pass to John Thompson as WSU regained the lead, 24-21.
— Colorado quickly answered. The Buffs went 75 yards in eight plays with Liufau hitting Lindsay for a 27-yard gain and MacIntyre for 15. Liufau then ran for his third TD of the day, carrying in from 11 yards out as Colorado regained the lead, 28-24.
FOURTH QUARTER
— A 15-yard facemask penalty moved the Cougars into CU territory to end the third quarter with Colorado holding a 28-24 lead. The Cougars then drove to CU's 18, but the Buffs came up with stops on third and fourth down, with a Nick Fisher tackle on a fourth-and-4 completion keeping the Cougars 1 yard away from a first down.
— CU then took the ball and drove to the WSU 27 before getting a 46-yard Chris Graham field goal, the longest of his career. Liufau surpassed 300 yards passing and 100 yards rushing on the drive, but was injured late on the drive and replaced by Steven Montez. Graham's field goal gave the Buffs a 31-24 lead with 9:09 left in the game.
