Buffs Place 19 On MPSF All-Academic Team

WOODLAND, Calif. — The University of Colorado's track and field team placed 19 student-athletes on the 2016 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic teams. The women had 14 honorees, while the men placed five on the team.

Sophomore Michaela Wenning, a chemical engineering major, led the women's team with a 4.00 grade point average, while sophomore Kaitlyn Benner was second with a 3.93 GPA as a biological and chemical engineering major. The other women on the team are Maddie Alm, Eryn Blakely, Mackenzie Caldwell, Erin Clark, Kelsey English, Eileen Gehring, Sophie Hallam-Eames, Ana Holland, Lucy May, Rajon O'Quinn, Abrianna Torres and Carrie Verdon.

The men's team was led by sophomore Paul Miller, who has a 3.68 GPA while majoring in neuroscience. Senior Morgan Pearson, an economics major, was second with a 3.45 GPA. CU's other male honorees are Isaiah Kaiser, Garrett Losty and Connor Winter.

To be chosen for this distinction, honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00, must be a sophomore academically, must have completed at least one academic year with their institution, and must have competed in at least 50 percent of the institution's competition.
