Stinson Named MPSF Rookie Of The Week

BOULDER - Colorado lacrosse player Miranda Stinson was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Rookie of the Week on Monday. It is the fourth player of the week award for CU this season. Sarah Brown was named defensive player of the week on Feb. 15; Paige Soenksen won the same award on March 28 and Johnna Fusco was last week's offensive player of the week.
Stinson, a freshman from Manakin Sabot, Va., is coming off her best weekend of the season. On Friday, she had a goal and an assist and two draw controls in a 23-0 win over Saint Mary's (Calif.). On Sunday, she scored a season-high three goals and had one assist for four points. In total, Stinson scored four goals and tallied two assists in two games.
Colorado (11-4 overall, 6-2 MPSF) will wrap up the regular season at Oregon on Sunday. The Buffaloes have already clinched a spot in the upcoming MPSF Tournament.
