Lee Named Golfweek Third Team All-American

BOULDER – Esther Lee of the University of Colorado women's golf team earned her second All-American honor of the year as she has been named a third team All-American by Golfweek.
Lee, a native of Los Alamitos, Calif. finished her junior year for the Buffaloes as the country's 22nd-ranked golfer. The soon-to-be senior anchored Colorado during the 2015-16 season with a program-best 72.53 stroke average while also leading the Buffaloes in various other categories. She posted a team-best six top 10 finishes, three rounds in the 60s, eight subpar rounds, 21 even-par rounds, four eagles and 89 birdies. Lee was also named to the All-Pac-12 team and earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention.
Lee's All-American honor is the fourth of her career. She has earned second team All-American honors by the Women's Golf Coaches Association twice and was named to Golfweek's third team as a sophomore.
The Buffaloes wrapped up their 2015-16 season with a school-record 12 top 10 finishes and tied a program-best with their fifth place finish at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships. Colorado posted the second lowest team stroke average (75.25) in program history and earned a postseason invitation to the NCAA Regional in Stanford, Calif. where the Buffs finished seventh overall.
