January 22, 2017 | Soccer
BOULDER – The University of Colorado's women's soccer team hosted its 2016 awards banquet on Saturday night in the Bryon R. White Club at Folsom Field.
The program played in its 20th season at the Division I level and the Buffs celebrated the milestone with a strong season. CU went 15-6-1 (8-2-1 Pac-12) earning the right to host a first-round match in the NCAA tournament, which they won, before being knocked out in the second round.
"We talked about how this was a bounce back season," said Colorado head coach Danny Sanchez. "This year for me personally was awesome and I want to thank the team for their commitment this season. Early in the season we dropped three straight and we could have packed up shop, but we didn't and myself and the coaching staff couldn't be more proud of this group."
