INDIAN WELLS, Calif. - The University of Colorado tennis freshman Linda Huang dropped her consolation match to the No. 1 seed Anna Danilina of Florida at the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.Â
The Australia native, after falling to the No. 57 ranked Kaitlyn McCarthy of Duke in the round of 64, 6-0, 6-1 faced the No. 1 seed Anna Danilina. Danilina was upset in the opening round by Oklahoma State's Vladica Babic 6-3, 6-1.Â
Huang battled and hung tough but fell to Danilina 6-4, 6-4.Â
"The outcome is not what Linda was hoping for," head coach Nicole Kenneally said. "But, to be a freshmen and to get that experience is huge for her personal development as well as the positives that Linda can take out of the experience and share with her teammates."
Huang and the Buffs will be back in action on Nov. 10-12 for the San Diego State Invitational.Â
