BOULDER - Led by a top-10 finish from junior Brittany Fan, Anne Kelly's Buffs recorded their best-ever conference tournament placing, nabbing second in the highly competitive Pac-12 championships.

Fan finished in a tie for seventh with a four-over 220 at the Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.,, her second-best 54-hole total of the season. The Buffs, ranked 21st in the nation at the time, carded an 883 to finish behind No. 3 UCLA, but ahead of No. 2 Stanford and No. 14 Arizona.

Colorado then earned a berth in the NCAA Columbus Regional,  but for the second straight year, came up just one stroke short of qualifying for the NCAA Championships.

Still, it was another overall successful season for the Buffs. Colorado finished with 10 top-10 finishes in 11 events played, including eight top-five finishes, the second-most in program history.

Other team highlights during the year included a third-place finish in the 18-team Silverado Showdown (Kirsty Hodgkins tied for fourth) in the spring; and a CDA Resort Collegiate Invitational championship in the fall. The CDA title included a school-record 834 score for 54 holes.

Individually, the Buffs saw Robyn Choi qualify for the WSGA Women's Open while also earning WGCA All-American scholar honors; Esther Lee earn Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention honors as well as All-Pac-12 honorable mention designation; and Kirsty Hodgkins also earn All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors.

Sport Supervisor JT Galloway On Women's Golf
"This past year was an amazing one for our women's golf program.  The team really played well last spring, which saw them finish in the top of 4 of each tournament they played including the Pac-12 Championships in Tucson.  Their second place finish at the Pac-12's is the best in school history, with both Brittany Fan and Esther Lee place in the top ten individually.  My personal highlight was accompanying them to the NCAA regionals in Columbus.  Watching them compete at the highest level over three rounds and have it all come down to one stroke was both heartbreaking and inspiring.  The manner in which the players, Anne and Brent handled the disappointment of coming up one stroke short of advancing for the second year in a row was truly impressive.   They handled it with unbelievable class and composure."

"They continued their impressive play over to the fall by winning Gonzaga's tournament with Kristy finishing first and Robyn second.  When this team comes back for the spring, I truly believe they'll have one of the strongest in the country.  I'm excited to see what they can accomplish."
