BOULDER — After starting the season 3-0, the Colorado women's lacrosse team is receiving more national attention, this week cracking the top-10 of the Cascade/Inside Lacrosse media poll at ninth.
The Buffs moved up five spots from last week's No. 14 ranking with an 11-7 win against then-No. 16 UMass and a 22-3 decision against Stetson.
Colorado also broke into the IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll this week for the first time in program history, debuting at 13th. (This is the first coaches' poll of the season and the Buffs were not ranked in the preseason poll that came out on Jan. 30.)
In the NIKE/US Lacrosse Magazine poll, the Buffs stayed at 11th for the second straight week.
North Carolina (3-0) was the top team in each of the three polls.
Colorado will open its final season of Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play on Sunday, Feb. 26, against UC Davis in Boulder. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. at Kittredge Field.
