Get To Know: Emily DeMure

BOULDER - The next Buff we'd like to introduce you to is redshirt freshman Emily DeMure. DeMure is an outside hitter from Granite Bay, Calif.
1. What is your favorite volleyball memory and why?
Winning the D1 CA section championship my senior year of high school, because we beat our biggest rival. Before the match, my team blasted high school musical on the bus ride and we had a great mindset going into the game. That was one of the most fun times I have had in a volleyball environment.
2. Who is someone you look up to the most and why?
I look up to my parent more than anyone. I admire how hard they work, each run their own business and manage four children while pursuing their dreams. They never fail to support, love, and care for my brothers and I.
3. Name a place you've always wanted to go to but never have been.
I have always wanted to go to Alnwick Castle in Europe. Harry Potter was filmed there!
4. Why did you choose to become a Colorado Buffalo?
I chose to be a Buff because of the positive reputation athletically, academically, and the location. It is the most beautiful college I have seen. And the support given to athletes here is unbeatable.
5. What is your favorite TV show?
Hannah Montana
6. Where do you see yourself in five years from now?
I plan to be playing professional volleyball in Germany, while in the process of starting an Olympic certified training facility for weight training for high profile athletes. And hopefully I will be engaged by then, let's hope haha!
7. Do you have any hidden talents?
I paint and draw and have a website containing my portfolio.
8. Did you play in any other sports growing up or in high school?
I ran varsity track.
9. How many pairs of shoes do you currently own?
Way too many to count. Like seriously a lot of shoes.
10. Who is your best friend and how did you meet?
Ashley, from my home town. She was my first friend I made my sophomore year of high school when I moved.
11. What is your favorite part about being at the University of Colorado?
The atmosphere and effort that is visible from everyone. How much everyone truly cares for one another.
12. Name one celebrity you would like to meet and why?
Shawn Mendes, because I have a major crush on him and love how his music makes me feel.
