Volleyball Begins Full-Team Spring Practice
March 08, 2017 | Volleyball
BOULDER — Colorado hit the gym for a full team practice this morning, marking the official start to its spring volleyball season.
The Buffs have already had partial team practices, but this was the first chance for the entire team to be in the practice gym together.
CU will practice for a few weeks before taking time off for Spring Break (March 27-31). Shortly after the Buffs return, they will host Northern Colorado and Colorado State on April 8 for their first spring matches. CU will play CSU again on April 15 in Fort Collins, Colo. The Buffs will also have a re-match of UNC on April 21 in Greeley, Colo. The final spring match will be on April 22 against Wyoming in Boulder.
Colorado finished the 2016 season with a 14-16 overall. The Buffs recorded five wins against ranked teams, which included three at home and two on the road. They defeated No. 13 Penn State and No. 17 Illinois on back-to-back nights at the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge before taking down No. 12 UCLA, all at home. On the road, CU was the first team to beat No. 13 Washington State in Pullman, Wash. and also recorded its first win in Salt Lake City with a five-set victory against the No. 17 Utah Utes.
