Get To Know: Gabby Simpson

BOULDER – The next Buff in our 'Get To Know' series is Gabby Simpson, a setter and right side hitter from Colorado Springs, Colo. She will be a senior in the fall.

1. What is your favorite volleyball memory and why?

My favorite volleyball memory would be when we played Colorado State my freshman year. It was such an intense game and the fact that I got to play with my two older sisters made it even better.

2. Who is someone you look up to the most and why?

I look up to both of my older sisters a lot. I feel like they represent themselves and what they believe in very well.

3. Name a place you've always wanted to go to but never have been.

I have always wanted to go to Fiji. I love the ocean and really blue water.

4. Why did you choose to become a Colorado Buffalo?

I choose to become a Buffalo because two of my sisters went to CU and it's close to home. Also the extremely beautiful campus played a part in my decision.

5. What is your favorite TV show?

My favorite TV show is either Greys Anatomy or the Vampire Diaries.

6. Where do you see yourself in five years from now?

In five years from now I can see myself playing volleyball... what a coincidence! ;-)

7. If you had to be stranded on a deserted island with one person who would you want that one person to be?

Bear Grylls, we would survive on that island.

8. Do you have any hidden talents?

I can play the piano and crush guitar hero!

9. Did you play in any other sports growing up or in high school?

I played basketball until I got to high school and ran track.

10. How many pairs of shoes do you currently own?

Rough guess probably around 30. Not 100% sure.

11. Who is your best friend and how did you meet?

My best friends are Maddie Beal and Nate Howe. I met Maddie through volleyball and Nate from high school.

12. What is your favorite part about being at the University of Colorado?

Just being on one of the most beautiful campuses does it for me.

13. Name one celebrity you would like to meet and why?

Kenny Chesney because I love his music.
