Buffs Dip To Ninth In National Rankings

BOULDER — Colorado dropped to ninth this week in all three national lacrosse polls after suffering its second loss of the season to then-No. 9 Southern California on April 14.
The Buffs had been ranked fifth in the Cascade/Inside Lacrosse and the Nike/U.S. Lacrosse Magazine polls, and were sixth in the IWLCA Coaches' poll last week, but after falling to USC (11-5) last Friday in Los Angeles, they slid to ninth this week.
CU went 1-1 last weekend. After falling to USC on Friday, the Buffs rebounded on Sunday afternoon, downing San Diego State 17-5. Colorado also qualified last weekend for its fourth consecutive Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament, which is scheduled April 27-30 in L.A.
The Buffs will wrap-up their regular season this weekend on the road. They will take on St. Mary's on Friday, April 21, and on Sunday, April 23, they will play California.
