Get To Know: Taylor Joachim

BOULDER – The next Buff in our 'Get To Know' series is Taylor Joachim, a right side hitter from Baroda, Mich. She will be a sophomore in the fall.
1. What is your favorite volleyball memory and why?
At CU it would be when we beat Penn State 15-3 in the fifth set.
2. Who is someone you look up to the most and why?
My mom because she's an all-around amazing woman, who has been the hardest working, most loving, most confident person I've ever met.
3. Name a place you've always wanted to go to but never have been.
Bali.
4. Why did you choose to become a Colorado Buffalo?
As soon as I stepped on campus I knew this was home.
5. What is your favorite TV show?
Right now it's "Love" on Netflix.
6. Where do you see yourself in five years from now?
I have NO idea. The opportunities are endless.
7. If you had to be stranded on a deserted island with one person who would you want that one person to be?
My sister, Bailey. We probably wouldn't survive but at least we'd have fun.
8. Do you have any hidden talents?
I love to crochet, I can make pretty much anything from a blanket to a bikini. I also love pretty much anything creative, I love to take photos, make jewelry, and on any given day, I'm probably wearing at least one thing I've made.
9. Did you play in any other sports growing up or in high school?
I used to play soccer until about the age of 12. I was way too tall for that anyway, I would get in trouble for elbowing the other kids in the head.
10. How many pairs of shoes do you currently own?
I think I only have around 20 at school with me, including the ones in my locker.
11. Who is your best friend and how did you meet?
One day my parents brought home this little baby named Bailey from the hospital. We've been BFFs ever since.
12. What is your favorite part about being at the University of Colorado?
The SUN is always shining!!! There's so much to do here and I am happy.
13. Name one celebrity you would like to meet and why?
Andy Samberg and Joanna Newsom. They're married, Andy is in my favorite movie, Hot Rod, and Joanna is a harpist and singer. I love them both and I think they're sick.
