Buffs Move up To Eighth In Media Poll

BOULDER — After recording a pair of convincing wins last weekend to conclude regular season play, the Colorado lacrosse team moved up one spot to eighth in the latest Cascade/Inside Lacrosse media poll.
The Buffs, who are 15-2 overall and finished conference play with a 7-1 mark, stayed at ninth in the IWLCA Coaches and Nike/U.S. Lacrosse Magazine polls.
CU has set a school record this season with 15 wins, besting its previous total of 13 wins from the 2016 season. The Buffs also set a record with 24 goals in the win against St. Mary's on April 21, breaking the former single-game mark of 23. CU took that game 24-5 before defeating California 18-6 on April 23. The win over Cal was the 50th career-win for CU coach Ann Elliott, as well as the 50th win in program history.
Colorado will travel back to California for the third straight weekend, this time for the 2017 MPSF Tournament in Los Angeles. The Buffs earned the No. 2 seed and have a first-round bye. They will face the winner of the quarterfinal between No. 3 Stanford and No. 6 California on Friday, April 28, in the second semifinal of the day.
