Buffs To Face Stanford In MPSF Semifinals

LOS ANGELES — For the fourth straight year, No. 8 Colorado (15-2) will face Stanford in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Lacrosse Tournament semifinals.

Although this is the fourth consecutive meeting for CU and Stanford in the semifinals, there is one big difference. The Buffs earned a first-round bye as the No. 2 seed and will be well rested for the game on Friday, which is set for a 4 p.m. PT/5 p.m. MT start at McAlister Field on the campus of Southern California.

The Cardinal (12-5) advanced to the semifinals after defeating California 19-4 in the quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon. Stanford entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed, while the Bears (5-13) were No. 6. Â Elizabeth Cusick led the Cardinal with six goals in the win, while Areta Buness had five goals.
