Buffs Have Great First Day To Kick Off Oregon State High Performance Meet

CORVALLIS, Ore. āĀ SophomoreĀ Dani Jones lead the way for the University of Colorado's track team on the first day of the Oregon State High Performance Meet here Friday. Jones, winning the 1,500-meter race, also produced the 10th top performance all-time at Colorado with a PR of 4:12.68.
Women's Track Events: CU junior Erin Clark gave Colorado their second top three finish on the day when she finished third in the 5,000-meters, running the race with great time of 16:11.32.Ā Her time is the second-best time run by a Buff in the event this season.

Jones got herself the win but she wasn't alone in being successful in the 1,500-meter event for the Buffs.Ā Freshman Madie Boreman ran a PR time of 4:19.61 which gave her a top ten finish at eight, putting two Buffs in the 1,500-meter top ten.

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase event freshman Sage Hurta ran the second fastest time by a Buff this season finishing third, for CU's third top three finish in the meet, with a solid time of 10:15.75.

Giving CU another top ten finish in the meet was sophomore Tabor Scholl whose time of 10:33.31 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase was good enough for her to finish ninth.
Men's Track Events: The men competed in one race, and following the standard of the day set by the women, had two top ten finishes in the 1,500-meters.

Sophomore Joe Klecker finished second in the 1,500-meters, making it four top three finishes for CU, with a PR time of 3:41.45 and his time now puts him sixth on CU's top performers list.Ā Fellow sophomore John Dressel rounded out the Buff men, crushing his previous PR finishing sixth with a time of 3:45.49.
