Get To Know: Naghede Abu

BOULDER – Our next Buff in the 'Get To Know' series is Naghede Abu, a middle blocker from Riverside, Calif. She will be a junior in the fall.
1. What is your favorite volleyball memory and why?
Beating Penn State last year for the first time in a really long time.
2. Who is someone you look up to the most and why?
My Mother because she is strong, independent and extremely hardworking. She is also consistently challenging me to be better.
3. Name a place you've always wanted to go to but never have been.
England. It has it all.
4. What is your favorite TV show?
The Big Bang Theory, Blackish
5. Where do you see yourself in five years from now?
Probably working as an investment banker or attending medical school.
6. If you had to be stranded on a deserted island with one person who would you want that one person to be?
Either Kevin Hart or Chris Rock. They're just so hilarious I'd probably forget I was stranded.
7. Do you have any hidden talents?
I like to invent new recipes in the kitchen. I am also unnaturally good at identifying food from those Buzzfeed quizzes. I'm a little ashamed to admit this.
8. Did you play in any other sports growing up or in high school?
Basketball. I also did Long jump and high jump for a little bit.
9. How many pairs of shoes do you currently own?
Easily over 100 pairs. I love to buy shoes.
10. Who is your best friend and how did you meet?
My best friend is named Cinthia and we met during freshman year of high school. We are probably the two most different people you will ever meet but we just get along so well.
11. What is your favorite part about being at the University of Colorado?
I like that I am on my own and independent.
12. Name one celebrity you would like to meet and why?
Gabrielle Union. She's beautiful, smart and so talented.
