BOULDER — For the second time this season, sophomore midfielder Miranda Stinson has been voted the Alpha Lacrosse National Player of the Week.

Stinson, a Manakin Sabot, Va., native, helped lead Colorado to its first Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament final with a 14-13 win over Stanford in the semis. In the win, Stinson tied a career-high and CU single-game record with five goals.

Her first goal tied the game up at 6-6 with eight seconds left in the first half. Stanford took at 9-7 advantage in the second half and Stinson tallied another marker to bring the Buffs within one. The Cardinal had another one-goal lead before the Buffs scored four straight goals, including three by Stinson. She found the back of the net at 7:45, evening the score at 11-11. She earned her fourth goal of the game a little over two minutes later, giving the Buffs a 12-11 advantage. Teammate Johnna Fusco tallied her third of the game at 3:04 and Stinson notched her fifth goal with just under two minutes left in the game, putting CU up 14-11. That goal ended up being the game-winner as Stanford was able to score two quick goals before time expired.

Stinson recorded 44 percent of the vote, while UNC's Molly Hendrick was second with 36 percent. Hendrick recorded seven goals and two assists against Syracuse.
